Who we are.

We, at FodayKemo Orphanage, have taken up a noble cause one rooted in compassion, dignity, and faith. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environment for orphaned and vulnerable children in The Gambia. We are dedicated to giving every child the love, care, and education they deserve, including the opportunity to memorize the Holy Qur’an and grow into strong, kind, and educated members of society.

Our mission is to provide hope, care, and opportunity for orphaned and vulnerable children in The Gambia. We strive to give every child a safe home, nutritious meals, quality education, healthcare, and Islamic upbringing.

Through compassion and community support, we aim to build a brighter future one child at a time ensuring they grow up with dignity, faith, and the tools to succeed in life.

How it started.

The vision began humbly in the home of Shaykh Saikou Kanagie, whose deep faith and sense of responsibility inspired him to open his doors to children in need. From these beginnings, FodayKemo Orphanage has grown into a beacon of hope for dozens of orphans a place where young souls find family, purpose, and a connection to their Deen.

What we do:

Through the continued efforts of our team and the support of generous donors from the UK and around the world, we provide:

Shelter and daily meals to children who would otherwise go without
Islamic education, focused on Quran memorization (Hifz) and proper upbringing
Schooling and life skills to help prepare them for the future
Medical care, clean water, and a safe place to grow up

We Find & Fund

With compassion and faith, we find orphans in need and fund their care through community support. Every contribution helps us fulfil our duty of giving these children love, education, and a chance to thrive in this world and the next.

We Provide Care

With sincerity and faith, we care for orphans by providing food, shelter, education, and Islamic upbringing. Our goal is to nurture them with love and guidance so they can grow with dignity and purpose.

We Provide Education

Through Islamic and academic learning, we nurture the minds and hearts of orphaned children. Our goal is to guide them with knowledge, faith, and discipline so they can become future leaders of their communities.

We Provide Shelter

We offer a secure Islamic home for orphaned children, giving them comfort, stability, and the care they deserve as we fulfil our duty to protect those who have no one else.
